Why create a blog called "Start Late"?

Plenty of people have begun pursuits later in life. This motivational blog is meant to help others pursue their dreams, no matter how old they are.

Good question.

As a 35-year-old man that is writing his first novel, amongst other writing projects, I’m finally doing what I want to do.

Up until my thirties, I went along with whatever life threw at me. I was a lazy kid in high school who didn’t work to secure a great future. I accepted odd jobs for 13 years just to pay rent, and I have watched others excel in life, seemingly not wasting any time.

Now, I’m done watching others do what they are passionate about, and not following suit. I am choosing to do what I love, no matter what happens to me, and what I love to do is write copy for businesses, write stories for people, and empower minds with relevant advice that may help them live life well. Until God tells me to do otherwise. I’m locked in on my passion, regardless of what life throws at me.

Blog writing, copy writing, and creative writing bring me joy, and because I have experienced such joy, I want other folks my age or older to obtain that joy as well through Start Late.

I hope to help others who are “late in life” start something wonderful and encourage them to maintain good habits.

Maybe your passion is not writing. Maybe you had a business idea 10 years ago but laid it down because no one else believed in it. Maybe you wanted to create that app that have thought about, but others said, “It will never work” or “No one will download it”. Maybe you have tried, and tried, and tried to find some meaning in life but nothing is making you happy. The last thing I want you to feel is shame. The first thing I want you to feel is encouraged to start late. Starting late is better than not starting at all, and I hope to drive that message home.

Millions of people around the world have decided to pick up dreams where they’ve left them and go for them, although they are advanced in age.

Don’t settle for what life has handed you. Start living with purpose, even if it means you had to start late!
